Our Mission

To foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts. To serve our veterans, the military and our communities. To advocate on behalf of all veterans.

Our History

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) was formed after the Spanish-American War, which occurred from April to August 1898. Following the war, numerous American military veterans recognized the importance of uniting to offer support and companionship to those who had served in overseas conflicts. On September 29, 1899, in Columbus, Ohio, the VFW was officially founded under the name "American Veterans of Foreign Service."
